Program Description:

Whether you're converting existing training or building something new, designing microlearning that's concise without losing what matters is easier said than done. Where do you start? What stays, what goes, and how do you structure what's left? In this sneak peek from the upcoming book Maximizing the Power of Microlearning (ATD Press, Releasing March 31st), you'll explore the Chunk, Strip, Build framework, a practical approach to content conversion grounded in cognitive load theory. You'll discover why cognitive load matters, see how the framework works, and get hands-on with practical techniques for keeping your microlearning concise and effective.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Recognize how cognitive load influences microlearning design decisions, particularly when converting existing content.
  2. Identify practical techniques for designing concise microlearning products.
  3. Determine what content to keep and what to eliminate when converting existing training.
