Come join us for our first panel discussion with learning leaders around Central Pennsylvania!

Topics include onboarding, learning delivery and technology, metrics and learning sustainability, and employee development.

Our panelists are learning leaders from 4 organizations that emphasizes on a great learning culture. Ms. Grayce Langheine, Turkey Hill Dairy’s Talent Management Manager and an ATD Master Trainer will be moderating the session.

Panelists:

Mary Farrell, Director of Centralized Learning and Development, The Hershey Company
Mary Farrell is currently the Director of Learning & Development at the Hershey Company. Prior to joining Hershey in 2012, Mary spent the majority of her career in Learning & Development leadership roles at IBM where she achieved many internal and external awards, including an ASTD Excellence in Practice Citation.

Mary specializes in innovative learning design and performance consulting. She has extensive experience in linking human resource development programs to the strategic direction of the business and achieving measurable results.

During her time at Hershey, Mary has been responsible for introducing the company’s first competency model and integrating it into key HR processes, such as Career Development Planning and Performance Management. The Career Development program was recognized through a Brandon Hall Gold Award. Recently she has been responsible for launching two functional learning academies and for designing all learning for a new “green field” manufacturing facility.

Mary is an alumna of IBM’s Corporate Service Corps, a selective leadership and corporate social responsibility initiative. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Management, and currently resides in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Kevin Hostetter, Director of Training, Auntie Anne’s Inc.
Kevin is the Director of Training for Auntie Anne’s LLC that is based in Lancaster. Auntie Anne’s was founded by “Auntie” Anne Beiler on February 2, 1988, has the best tasting pretzels in the world, and is the #1 pretzel franchisor in the world with locations in 48 states and 28 countries!

In his role, Kevin has the privelege of working with a team of engaged and passionate leaders who strive to equip business owners, store managers, and team members for success with the Auntie Anne’s business and personally. The team carrys on the culture of focusing on people…as Auntie Anne would say, “We are in the people business, we just happen to sell pretzels.”

He is responsible for the training programs offered at the Support Center in Lancaster and regionally across the country. Auntie Anne’s has been recognized as a World-Class Franchisee by the Franchise Research Institue for 12 consecutive years and multiple times the Training Team has received a score of 100.

Kevin reports to the VP of Operations and works closely with the Operations Team, and has P&L responsibility for the 13 corporately owned Auntie Anne’s locations. This provides an unique opportunity to be involved in the external guest-facing side of the business and helps the training programs and job aids to be even more effective. One job/learning aid is an App that moved the system from paper copies of manuals to a digital solution that is not only a training aid, but a key communication tool with the frontline employees across the system.

Prior to being Director of Training, Kevin was a Training Manager, Training Development Specialist, Trainer, Assistant Store Manager, and over 26 years ago started his Auntie Anne’s career as a part-time team member at a local store.

Kevin attended Penn State University for three years, and graduated from Millersville University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. He has also completed MBA courses at Lebanon Valley College and is a Certified Hospitality Trainer.

Lenny Sweeney, Director of Training and Development, Milton Hershey School
Lenny currently serves as the Director of Training and Development for the Milton Hershey School (MHS). Established in 1909, MHS is a home and school to more than 2,000 children from families of lower income from across the state and country. Within this role, Lenny has the privilege of leading a team of very talented professionals whose mission is to provide training and leadership development for an organization of over 1200 full time and hundreds more part time employees. Reporting to the Vice President for Human Resources, the MHS Training and Development Team has responsibility for onboarding/reboarding initiatives, implementing enterprise-wide performance management and eLearning systems, developing current and aspiring leaders though various professional development opportunities, and serving as internal performance and organizational development consultants for a complex, matrix style organization that is MHS.

Prior to coming to MHS, Lenny served as the statewide program director for the Pennsylvania Inspired Leadership (PIL) Program, though the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The PIL program is focused on training and professional development initiatives that help build leadership capacity at all levels for public schools. During his time with the Department, Lenny also served on teams charted with implementing educational and technological interventions to assist with turnaround efforts in lower performing schools. In addition, Lenny has lead initiatives through the Department focused on the establishment of statewide industry partnerships for career and technical centers. Finally Lenny has served leadership roles in various statewide and national education associations.

Prior to coming to PDE, Lenny’s background includes industry experience as a Human Resource Development Specialist for AMP Incorporated (now part of TE Connectivity), specializing in curriculum development for engineering, manufacturing, leadership, and computer skills training. His experience also includes developing and deploying a Mastering Supervision training curriculum and an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) train-the-trainer program for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Lastly, Lenny has worked on a consulting basis with various companies to address issues in training, technology, leadership, and organizational development.

In his “spare time”, Lenny has instructed leadership development courses at the graduate level as an adjunct faculty member for Elizabethtown College’s MBA and Strategic Leadership programs, as well as for the Duquesne University graduate program in Leadership and Business Ethics.

Lenny received his Bachelors Degree in mathematics and education from Bucknell University. He also holds a Masters of Education in Training and Development from Penn State University.

Lenny is recently married to his wife Gina, his true love and fellow training and development colleague. Many times one may find the two of them “geeking out” over the latest trends in the training field.

Jenny Fedullo, Learning Solutions Manager, d’Vinci (JPL)
Jenny Fedullo leads the learning solutions team to provide innovative, learner-focused solutions that improve performance. She has a passion for using engaging content and technology to make learners and clients successful. Jenny has held a number of training and development positions throughout her career and knows how training can impact an individual’s performance, a department’s results and a company’s bottom line. Jenny holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting and management from Lock Haven University and has numerous certifications in training management and instructional design.
