DISC Basic™ & Emotional Intelligence Workshop

This interactive workshop explores how DISC style influences emotional intelligence across four key areas: Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Relationship Awareness, and Relationship Management. Participants will use their DISC insights, discussion, and practical workplace scenarios to identify strengths and development opportunities and practice more effective ways to manage emotions, understand others, and navigate everyday interactions.

About the Speaker:

Kristin Emerson is a leadership development facilitator and organizational consultant with experience helping teams and leaders improve communication, collaboration, and workplace effectiveness. She leads DISC certification programs, facilitates leadership and team-development workshops, and advises organizations on applying behavioral insights in practical, measurable ways. Her background also includes extensive experience teaching professional communication and designing learning experiences for diverse audiences.

Leaders as Coaches: Developing Coaching Capabilities That Drive Growth and Performance

What if one of the most powerful things a leader could do was stop giving answers and start asking better questions?

Today's leaders need to do more than direct work and solve problems. They must develop talent, build trust, encourage ownership, and help others reach their potential. Coaching is an essential leadership capability that can make that possible.

In this engaging, interactive session, we'll explore what it means to lead with a coaching mindset and how learning and development professionals can help build coaching capabilities throughout their organizations. Participants will examine the difference between directing and coaching, practice essential skills such as active listening and powerful questioning, and explore the GROW model as a practical framework for everyday leadership conversations.

We'll also consider how L&D professionals can move coaching beyond the classroom and into everyday leadership practices to create a culture of continuous learning, stronger performance, and meaningful employee development.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

Differentiate between coaching and traditional directive leadership approaches, recognizing how a coaching mindset supports employee growth, engagement, and performance.

Apply foundational coaching skills, including active listening, powerful questioning, and the GROW model, to facilitate effective leadership conversations.

Identify practical strategies for developing and reinforcing coaching behaviors within their organizations to support a culture of continuous learning and development.
