Instructional design plays an important role in ensuring the quality of instruction for learners. It starts from analyzing learning needs to the development and delivery of content to meet those needs. In this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify what factors influence the learning solution you deploy
  • Explore the reasons you have a training need
  • Consider the overt and covert characteristics of your learners
  • Recognize the impact budget, time, and resources have on your solution
  • Examine delivery options

WAIT, there’s more! It gets interesting and fun!

We are partnering with a local non-profit and they will be present that day to present a learning need.

We ask that you team up and listen to the learning needs from the speaker. We will have time for Q&A.

Your team will then have time to discuss and work on designing a form of learning delivery that would fit the learning needs of the non-profit organization.

Surprise! It’s actually a competition!

You team will be given judging criteria and have until November 1 to submit your idea and learning assets.

The overall winner will be announced at our Chapter’s Year End Celebration and the materials from the winning team will be used by the non-profit organization. Take this opportunity to sharpen your skills and hear different perspectives on instructional design. This is a chance for professional development and community support in one project.

Isn’t that exciting? So, bring a team with you and let’s give back to our community!

Parking Instructions: Park in front of the 19 East Chocolate Avenue building with a big Hershey Company sign. Go to the lobby to be registered as a visitor. There will be volunteers to point you to the conference room. Lost? Please contact Larry Asu at 717-743-7821.

New Member/Prospective Member Meet and Greet:

We'd like to invite you to join us just prior to the event (5:30 - 6 p.m.) for our New Member/Prospective Member Meet and Greet. This is a great way to connect with other new members and discuss the value that membership with our chapter can offer YOU. Additionally, we will have people from our Membership team there to answer any questions you may have about the chapter. When you check in, just let our greeter know you are interested in joining the Meet and Greet, and he or she will direct you.
